A little change

I LOVE home design. I totally missed my calling-not to say that I would have been a master architect or anything, but I sure would have enjoyed every minute of it. So we decided to make a few small changes that could make a big impact for us to enjoy. Since this house is our starter home we still had to keep things simple.
My close friends know that there is one part of our house that I absolutely despised. It is an addition by the previous owners that runs along the entire side of the house resulting in a long, narrow, awkward room (think 9'x20'). I have never been able to find anything that fits properly or makes sense. So, instead of purchasing furniture specifically for that space, my idea was to divide the space with a wall making one half a  "mudroom"-since we already have french doors from the driveway-and the other a small bedroom/office.
Done.
I have no before picture..
But here is some progress:
This picture is looking from the entry to what was once the side room. The new wall to the right split up the space

This is from the same view point, just a few steps over. Our washer and dryer closet is the opening you can barely see to the left.

Semi before picture of the wash area.

The washer and dryer closet area in the very back of the room.  (Bella is in almost every picture, it's like playing Where's Waldo). They are almost finished here! My mom helped me re-paint, lay down some fancy new linoleum :) flooring, and put some shelving together, as you see in the picture below.

I'll post a completely finished picture as soon as I get them uploaded!
