Luck O' The Irish

Every year St Patrick's Day brings me to reminisce on our honeymoon (3 1/2 years ago!). Chris surprised me with a 2 week trip to Ireland. This is the only surprise he has ever been able to pull off  :) and I was in complete shock.
Ireland is somewhere both of us have always wanted to visit, and it was the perfect first trip to Europe. We flew into Dublin and rented a car driving all the way along the southern part of the country staying in Waterford (Waterford Castle), Killarney (Aghadoe Heights), and County Clare (Doonbeg Lodge). Since two weeks worth of info would be a super long post, this will be more of a photo dump post.

Can't wait for the day we can go back!

We were also fortunate enough to spend about 20 hours in London. Flying from Shannon airport into Heathrow, we missed our flight. (Have you ever flown into or out of Heathrow? I really don't consider us idiots when it comes to travel, so maybe it was just the lack of sleep, but it was heck difficult. And no offense to any Brits but the Irish were much more helpful when we had a question about which way to go).  Our travel agent had prepared us a place to stay just in case we did miss our flight (I think we literally had 45 minutes to get to the gate?!) so we hopped in a cab and arrived at the hotel. We literally dropped our luggage in the room and hit the road running to try and see as much as we could in the short amount of time we had.
BAD IDEA. :)
We were so exhausted and hadn't "planned" any specific stops so we basically just wandered around London for a few hours, seeing a small area of sights. Then we got LOST walking home...and wandered through Hyde Park. Having been up since 4am, at this point we were ready to kill each other get some rest. So after making it back to the hotel we headed to bed and safely made it home the next day.

This entire trip was just so much more than I ever imagined being able to do on a honeymoon. I'm still so grateful that Chris put so much thought into it. It's absolutely a trip I will NEVER forget.
